Roman bronze bow fibula, complete but bent, 2nd-4th century AD
Roman bronze ‘bow’ fibula brooch, the body made from one piece of bronze wire, the pin & spring a second piece.
Northern Europe, 2nd-4th century AD
4.5cm long, on stand 10cm high
Condition: the bronze in great condition, but has been crushed in antiquity – would take some force, so perhaps crushed by a horse/cart?
Provenance: London trade, 1990’s
