Chinese Export porcelain bowl, from the Nankin Cargo, decorated in underglaze blue & on glaze enamels with a ‘Rock & Peony’ pattern, the enamels now degenerated into grey tones, with traces of iron red & gilt details.
Circa 1750
Condition: Good condition, no damage, just enamels & gold ‘fugitive’ due to sea water. Excellent lustre to the surface, like new!
Provenance: Geldermalsen shipwreck 1752, known as the ‘Nankin Cargo’, recovered by Australian diver Captain Hatcher 1983, not sold in the European auctions of the Nankin Cargo, brought back to Australia.
