Giusto Viti was an Italian sculptor active early 20th century. Many of his busts have the same off-center nature as this once, which give it a dynamic sense of movement – perfect for a bust of a racing car driver.
Some possible female racing drivers of the period include Maria Antonietta (Italian, spent time in Australia and active in racing 1920’s-30’s)
and Hellé Nice, a remarkable French driver of the 1930’s.
