Superior large double-handled mug with interior frogs, humorous prints inc. cowboy, c. 1860

Remarkable rare large English Pottery loving cup , with couple handles and three colourful frogs concealed inside, printed in black with a large ‘cowboy’ on a magnificent horse, holding a lasso above his head with a bull running into the distance, the interior with two ‘children’s mug’ prints ‘SEE SAW’ and ‘PUNCH AND JUDY’, the base unusually also decorated with two more prints, ‘A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED’ and ‘DOG ARGUEMENTS’, the rim & handles with a flower & scroll print.

Excellent condition with no issues to report.
The prints apparently not recorded exactly, with the ‘Dog’s Argument’ being closest to one on the Transferware Collector’s Club website – ‘maker unknown’. The other 4 prints on this mug may be linked, and if the border, or shape of the mug can be isolated to a single maker, a group of attributions may be possible.
