Thai Swankhalok stoneware box, lotus design in brown, 15th century


Swankhalok (Thai) stoneware box, the globular form decorated in brown iron oxide with a wide band of scrolling foliage, the lid with radiating leaf motif around a central stupa.

15th century

10cm wide, 8cm high
Excellent condition, some chips beneath foot probably from time of manufacture, well cleaned
