Art Nouveau pottery vase, of simple form with ribbed buttress panels meeting to form the rim, the sides with a dimpled pattern, lightly glazed with a reddish brown finish and panels of gilt foliage cartouches on a green ground.

Tooth was promoted from a workman to manager at the Lindthorpe pottery by Dr Christopher Dresser. He left in 1883 and set up Tooth & Ault, becoming Tooth & Co after Ault set up his own pottery in 1887. Made in England was introduced in 1900, while CLANTA wares were introduced in 1914
