References | A pair of figures in the Grand Palais collection dated to 1740 share a lot of characteristics, including the trunk and the rocky base picked out in the same peculiar transluscent brown/purple, green, mustard enamels. The hand beaten copper ormolu lid is of the perfect type for ormolu of this period, and is original. |
