Original patinated surface remains, with areas of a pleasant reddish blush tone.

Impressed mark to both ‘WMF’,

Circa 1905

Condition: Good condition with some dents to body, cane excellent, displays well.

This beautiful piece exemplifies the spirit of the Jugendstil (‘youthful-style) Movement in Germany, and the way it borrowed from the English ‘Arts & Crafts’ movement of the 1880’s-90’s.  The kettle is classic ‘Arts & Crafts’ as seen in England in the 1880’s-90’s, while the architectural stand has the theatrics of the emerging German style. The original surface is particularly rare and pleasing, and could have easily been lost to an enthusiastic cleaner at any time….
