Worcester fluted coffee cup & saucer, daisy pattern, c. 1770
$980.00 AUD
Worcester fluted coffee cup & saucer, painted with an unusual ‘Daisy’ pattern of alternating red and gold flowerheads, the ground a deep cobalt with flowerhead reserves.
Circa 1770
good condition, original factory blister to blue ground.
This delightful flowerhead pattern is not a factory pattern, and the use of gold separates it from the ‘Red Line Group’ of outside decorated Worcester. It probably originates in one of the nameless studios that purchased Worcester seconds and decorated them to make them saleable. The reason this piece was sold from the factory is the blistering evident to the blue ground.
