Flight Barr Barr Worcester Armorial plate, the rim with flowering branches in Imari colours, the centre well painted with a crest of an eagle, wings outstretched, beneath a banner inscribed ‘SPERO’ (Hope).

In Fairburn’s Crests 1911, there are several crests with an ‘Eagle’ and ‘SPERO’; ref. plate 67 no. 4 for the illustration for Schank (Shank) , and also Forbes.
