The attribution to William Billingsley is strong when you compare the technique used for creating such ‘light & fluffy’ flowers. His style was emulated by other painters at the factory, but there’s a certain vibrancy to his work which we believe is evident in this plate. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to bear any decorators mark at all, so we have to rely on attribution via the technique.
